Today there are almost countless manufacturers of aircoolers out there but there are still companies, which think that there are some niches, that have not yet been addressed. With their EREBOSS, Raijintek has quite a bulky tower cooler in its portfolio which should convince with an excellent price/performance ratio.

The EREBOSS ships well protected, that none of the parts included will be damaged during transportation. Raijintek includes not only an Intel but also an AMD mounting kit. Therefore the cooler is compatible with both worlds right out of the box. Raijintek also equips this cooler with one of their own fans. The fan which measures 140 x 150 millimeter is only 13 millimeters thick compared to the usual 25 millimeters you get with most other coolers fans.
Construction and design
Construction
If we had to define the type of cooler the EREBOSS is, then we would say it is a single tower cooler. This type of cooler comes with the advantage that manufacturers can realise a huge cooling area. The disadvantage over down-draft coolers is that no air is directed towards the motherboard directly, therefore none of the onboard components receive direct cooling. Raijintek manufactures their EREBOSS from aluminium and copper. You can find a nickel plated copper base plate which transports heat to six heatpipes which all have a diameter of six millimeters. Altogether there are 34 fins soldered to the heatpipes for efficient heat transfer.
Design
We could not find any manufacturing mistakes on our sample, and it seems that it has been well made which means that manufacturing quality is on an reasonably good level. Since Raijintek really optimized this cooler towards a very low price, the fins are very thin and if you strike over them you hear a slight rattling noise. The heatpipes do have different bending radius, which results in additional vortex. Furthermore this cooler comes with a total of 34 fins, which have been connected to one another for additional stiffenss.Mounting
Raijintek ships their EREBOSS with mounting kits that are compatible most of the common Intel and AMD sockets. The installation is self explanatory and quite easy. There is a backplate, which is compatible with all sockets out there. Also included in delivery you can find an extra long screwdriver.
On these pictures you can clearly see that the EREBOSS is a monster. We highly recommend using memory with low profile heatspreaders otherwise the cooler is going to collide with the memory sticks.

Testroutine
The CPU is being evaluated using Real Temp and with Prime95 we reach nearly 100% load on the CPU. For measuring the noise level we use a Voltcraft SL-200 decibel meter, which is positioned one meter from the CPU cooler with the fan mounted.- 2.66 GHz 12 volts load

| With the EREBOSS, Raijintek shows a cooler which was performing really well. If you keep in mind what this cooler actually costs, you understand, that you're about to get a lot for your money. The only thing we didn't like were the aluminum fins, which are so thin that make silent rattling noises when you strike over them. | During our tests we used the fan, which is included in delivery. Additionally Raijintek sent us a second one to test a dual fan setup. The fans measure 140 x 150 x 13 millimeter and at 12 Volt they can be described as audible, whereas at 7V they are very silent. We were actually quite surprise about the cooling capacity you get for this kind of money. In terms of cooling performance there really isn't anything more you could ask for in case of such a cooler. | -
