Conclusion

General   + -
ARCTIC released his new revision of his flagship cooler for graphics card that proved to be very good in our test. Featuring a very complete bundle, where you will be able to find even more than you need and very good performance on every levels as well at 7v as at 12v. The Accelro Xtreme Plus II cooler has also been very well manufactured although the mounting kit that is not the best we've seen. ARCTIC made his monster available for CHF 80.- (65 Euros), indeed for good quality and top performance you have to pay the price.   - Performance
- Manufacturing quality - Bundle
- Price - Pre-applied thermal compound

Installation   + -
Mounting the cooler is quite easy and doesn't take a lot of time. But you will need to tighten the screws very hard otherwise you will encounter a bad mounting. Once it's done, there is a very good pressure onto the graphics chip. The only thing that will need s bit more time is the application and mixing of the two thermal grease on the different points to cool with heatsinks on your PCB. We did not test the cooling efficiency though of those heatsinks and thermal pads/glue. Also note that as we did on this test, the Accelero Xtreme Plus II may not be compatible only with reference cards but also with own brand PCB cards like our MSI Twin Frozr II.   - Compatibility list - You need to tight the screw very hard - For nVidia's GT200 series and GTX 470/465 you need to buy additional parts

Performance   + -

If you drive the Accelero Xtreme Plus II fans at twelve volts they aren't noisy at all, in fact it's the quietest cooler we have tested. And the best part is that it is PWM capable, this means you can drive you fans and control the noise level at anytime within windows thanks to any overclocking/monitoring software even thru the Catalyst Control Center. As the Accelero Xtreme Plus II offers maximum performance it is not a problem to fix the rotation speed of the fans. Indeed even at 30 % fan speed it performed better than any stock/graphic cards brand coolers we tested, even if it was under the Icy Vision 2, the temperature measured were still very good. At 12v the cooler offered the best performance, up to 3°C better than the Gelid's cooler staying quiter than him.

  - Very good performance - Noiseless at 7v - Very silent at 12v - Performance at 7v

Recommendation   + -

The battle is over and we have to say that, well we are for sure not surprised by the result but still, the Accelero Xtreme Plus II is the best cooler we have tested so far. Okay the price is high, okay the cooler is not perfect, but maximum performance and quietness are priceless.
