Conclusion

Overall we can say that the MSI Gaming 24GE IPS is a good all-in-one system and suitable for casual gaming and office enviroments. The look is always a very subjective factor, but we believe that the red frame which is a characteristic of the MSI Gaming lineup is a bit too flashy for a work environment. We did like the build quality very much and the fact that high quality materials have been used, really leaves a good impression.

The performance of this system is where we expected it to be and especially the Intel i7-4720-HQ CPU gets the job done quickly. Apart from that, there is 16GB of DDR3 memory, which will even be enough in two years from now. The graphics card available on this model is a GTX 960M which provides performance similar and sometimes even higher than a GTX 750Ti. We tested the Gaming 24GE IPS with different games, applications and benchmarks and the results are sufficient for 1080p casual gaming. The storage has been a pleasant surprise, since the RAID0 out of two mSATA SSDs is performing very well.
Since the system is quite compact (it's just a little bit bigger than a normal 23" display) we were surprised to find temperatures similar and comparable to gaming notebooks. Applying heavy workload we measured 90°C on the CPU and 80°C on the GPU, which is in-line for such a system.

Nevertheless the MSI Gaming 24GE IPS isn't without flaws; unfortunately due to a bad placement of USB3.0 ports on the rear, there are issues connecting portable HDDs and large USB flash drives. We would like to see more ports, especially the ones, which are used on a daily basis. Apart from that, if you decide to use the VESA mount the ports on the back of the AiO become useless.

The MSI Gaming 24GE IPS is available on AK Informatica for about 1680 Euro. In our opinion the price is accurate. We initially tried to compare this system with a gaming laptop with similar features and performance, but we believe that the comparison is not good since there is a big difference about the monitor's size. In our opinion, this system competes with the Apple iMac solutions, which are substantially more expensive. We know that the price is quite steep, but in the end you're paying for the sleek ans slim design of a quite powerful AiO. The MSI Gaming 24GE IPS receives 4 stars out of 5.
