After releasing one thumb screw the side panel can be removed. Inside the case you find a lot of space for your precious hardware. The eight slot bezels are held in place by a very practical and high quality clamping mechanism. Each of the eight slot bezels can be removed by releasing the corresponding thumbscrew. If you'd like to install a very long graphic card as for example a Radeon HD 5970 this isn't a problem at all thanks to the cases comfortable depth. Also with the side panels you'll find perfectly brushed aluminium as well as perfect fitting. At this point we have to mention even the case is not cheap, the quality shows all it's benefits. If we remove the side panel, we find lots of space to install hardware. All together you can install up to eight 3.5'' and four 5.25'' drives. The sidepanels are manufactured from aluminium which is two mm thick and on the inside of them they are equipped with noise absorbing materials. Up to eight hard drives can be installed easily with the special screws delivered with the case. Once the screws are fixed tightly you can simply slide the hard drive until it fits. The SATA backpanel does not have any kind of controller on the PCB. Therefore a compatible motherboard with RAID and SATA Hotswap functionality is needed.

If you're a person who like to wire you PC neatly you'll definitely like the fact that Lian Li provided the X2000FB with several holes in the motherboards tray. This will let you do the wiring on the backside of the motherboard tray. The only thing which might not come in very handy is the cases sheer size when you're plugging in the 12 Volt ATX connector. You'd need to own a power supply which comes with an extra long 12 Volt ATX cable. Oversized Graphic cards can be fixed with additional plastic brackets on the aluminium truss with the screws delivered with the case. This makes sense when the case needs to be transported. The disadvantages of the aluminium truss can cause problems when connecting the powercable to the graphics-cards. The aluminium truss can simply be removed over four thumbscrews to get more space for other installations. Generally the X2000FB offers you a lot of space to comfortably install hardware. If you're looking for cable management this can also be done neatly using the benefit of the different holes in the motherboard tray.
