Construction and design

Construction

The Alpenföhn Nordwand consists of aluminium and copper. Five eight millimeter heatpipes establish direct contact to the CPU and therefore also bild the base plate. Furthermore the 50 fins are cooled via a 120 mm fan which comes with PWM functionality.

As we can recognize the five heatpipes have been polished to establish an as good as possible heat transfer.

Design

EKL spend the Alpenföhn Nordwand nice looks. Regarding these the 50 fins which are very well manufactured come with some kind of a special perforation to further enhance the cooling capacity. The fan is made of tranparent plastics and carries LEDs which can illuminate it with blue light.

The 120 mm fan is made of transparent plastics. It is being driven at 12 Volts and therefore rotates with 1500 rotations per minute. As a result of that it is subjectively silent.
