Layout and I/O

The Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P comes covered in the typical Gigabyte-blue. You get a very solid 12 + 2 + 2 phase current supply (12 phases for the CPU, two phases for memory and two for the northbridge). Further they also support VRD (Voltage Regulator Down) 11.1. Garphic cards can be mounted in three PCIe 2.0 graphic interfaces (E) which support Triple-SLI as well as CrossFireX. The layout is clearly arranged. All connectors are well placed and accessible. Installing new hardware is very convenient because on the whole board there is plenty of space around the bigger components.



Altogether there are six memory slots on the GA-EX58-UD4P which officially supports DDR3-1066/1333 with up to 12 GByte/s transferrate. If you want to overclock the memory subsystem Gigabyte says DDR3-1600 is also possible.

With its 90 degree angled SATA (B) connectors Gigabyte lets the you arrange its cables neatly and the onboard power- and reset button (A) are very practical. Further you'll find several diagnostic LEDs (F) which are capable of showing different states. On the I/O-Panel you'll also find a CMOS Clear button (D).

To cool the GA-EX58-UD4P Gigabyte put a passive aluminium heatpipe on it. Despite their dimensions there is plenty of space to install even a huge CPU cooler.



If you are looking for external connectors on the Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P you can find two Gigabit ethernet ports, eight USB 2.0/1.1 connectors, PS/2 keyboard and mouse connectors, optical and coaxial S/PDIF connectors as well as firewire, two eSATA connectors and 8-channel audio I/O.
