Conclusion

Lets take a closer look at the results gathered in the games we tested. In this case we can see, that the performance improvement from the GTX 650 Ti Boost to the GTX 750 Ti varies between 16 percent (Dirt Showdown) and -2.4 percent (Call of Duty Black Ops 2). After running theoretical benchmarks we see that in Unigine Heaven the performance is a tiny little bit lower with the GTX 750 Ti and in case of Fire Strike Extreme the GTX 750 Ti is 19 percent quicker. On average the GTX 750 Ti is 7 percent quicker than the GTX 650 Ti Boost.

At this point we also want to have a quick look at power consumption. Running our test setup with the GTX 750 Ti made it consume four watt less in idle than with the GTX 650 Ti Boost. Under load we noticed, that the test setup equipped with the GTX 650 Ti Boost needed 39 watts more. The new Maxwell based GPU is again shining here. Even though core clock speeds are higher but still power consumption is lower than with the old 600 series - in this case the 650 Ti Boost.

The new GTX 750 Ti is on average about 7 percent quicker than the GTX 650 Ti Boost. If you put the cards up against eachother when it comes to the price, we find the GTX 750 Ti to be 16 percent cheaper. In other words you pay 16 percent less for 7 percent more performance. If you're looking for an entry-level gaming graphics card, the GTX 750 Ti is basically as good as it gets these days. The only advantage the GTX 650 Ti Boost has over the new small Maxwell offer is the SLI connector. If you already own a GTX 650 Ti Boost you could snipe a cheap second card on eBay for roughly 80 Euro or about 90 US-Dollar. This would be boosting gaming performance by quite a margin but at the same time power consumption with massively increase.
