Conclusion
With its SandForce SF-2281 based
120 GByte Force GT SSD, Corsair isn't exactly withing the specs. Regarding write
performance the values we get are slightly above what the manufacturer promises.
On the other hand read performance is slightly below the the communicated 555
MByte/s. We measured
peaks which were 515 MByte were for writing 128 KByte blocks randomly and 540 MByte/s were reached when reading
256 KByte blocks sequentially. On average the 120 GByte Force GT SSD can keep up
with the other 120 GByte drives.
Regarding the delivery there is no more than a 2.5 inch to 3.5 adapter bracket
included. You'll find nothing else which is a bit poor compared to other
manufacturers. On the other hand there is the price of the Force GT which is
lower by quite a margin.
If you should be looking for a well performing 120 GByte SSD which doesn't come with a
lot of accessories then the Corsair Force GT 120 GByte SSD will be the right
choice for you. With a price point of CHF 249.- (est. EUR 200.-) it doesn't
actually belong to the cheapest models available.
The Corsair Force GT 120 GByte SSD gets fourout of five stars.
We took one star off because of the delivery which could be improved and also
because of the price which isn't a lot lower than the competition although they
offer more accessories for almost the same amount of money.
