With the ELC240 Enermax
has made a good entry into the market with closed-loop watercoolers.
Together with ALC they offer a product that is doesn't have any bigger
flaws and that offers very reasonable cooling capacity. Although the
ELC240 is not able to keep up with the most powerful aircoolers it
offers quite substantial benefits when it comes to compatibility. If you
own a case, where you can mount a dual heat-exchanger, then you can
realize a very tidy system. |

The
installation process is very easy and you can mount the cooler quickly.
We can't think of another cooler we've tested that was easier to
install. It's really piece of cake and we think even to a beginner this
is self explanatory. |

During our
tests we used the Enermax T.B. Silence fans, which were included in delivery. If you drive these
120 millimeter fans at 7 Volt they are silent and at 12 Volt (1500 rpm) it can be described as
loud. We wouldn't recommend to use these fans at 1800 or even 2200 rpm since
they are going to be very loud in these cases. A closer look at the test results
show that the ELC240 hasn't been able to claim a top position but still the
performance is on a level which is reasonable if you consider the price.

With the
ELC240 things are starting to become interesting if you own a case that offers
space for a dual fan heat-exchanger. Under these circumstances you can build a
very clean system that comes with quite some cooling capacity.
