[de]Mit der Q300 Pro hat Toshiba eine SSD-Serie im Angebot, die über ansprechende Leistung verfügt, wobei die SATA-Schnittstelle ausgereizt werden kann. [de]Bei der Q300 Pro handelt es sich um eine Toshiba SSD nach bewährtem Rezept. Zum Einsatz kommen MLC-Speicher, ein TC358790-Controller und erstaunlicherweise kein DRAM-Chip. Das Gehäuse in dem die Platine mit den genannten Komponenten verbaut ist, besteht aus Aluminiumblech und ist 7 Millimeter dünn. Toshiba hat sich dazu entschieden jeden einzelnen Chip mit Wärmeleitpads zu bestücken, sodass die Bauteile Abwärme effizient ans Gehäuse abgeben können. Öffneten wird die SSD, so stach die aufwändige Verschraubung ins Auge. Dadurch wird sichergestellt, dass die Wärmeleitpads stets einen sauberen Kontakt mit dem Aluminium-Gehäuse herstellen.

Führen wir uns Toshibas Aufgebot an Q300-Pro-Drives zu Gemüte, dann sehen wir, dass es Modelle mit 128 Gigabyte, 256 Gigabyte und 512 Gigabyte gibt. Zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt würden wir uns, vor allem für den Schweizer Markt, über ein 1-Terabyte-Modell freuen. Spielt man mit dem Gedanken einen leistungsfähigen Rechner mit üppig dimensioniertem Bootlaufwerk auf die Beine zu stellen, dann besteht die Möglichkeit zwei der 512-Gigabyte-Drives im RAID0 zu betreiben. Somit hätte man dann nicht nur ein Bootdrive mit 1 Terabyte Speicher, sondern auch die doppelte Performance.

Machen wir uns auf die Suche nach weiteren Goodies, dann findet man im Lieferumfang enthalten einen Spacer, der die Q300 Pro kompatibel zu 2.5-Zoll-Slots macht, die für Laufwerke mit 9.5 Millimeter Bauhöhe gedacht sind. Ebenfalls mit im Gepäck ist eine Gratiskopie von NTI’s Echo Software, die das Klonen des existierenden Laufwerks auf die Q300 Pro erlaubt. Abgerundet wird das Gesamtpaket durch fünf Jahre Garantie, wie sie derzeit für hochwertige SATA-SSDs gängig ist. The case has been made from thin sheet aluminum and the entire drive measures 7 millimeter in height. Toshiba equips every single chip on the SSD with thermal pads, which allows for effective heat dissipation, especially in combination with the aluminum casing. Apart from that the PCB with all the chips has been tightly screwed to the casing, ensuring good heat conductivity.

 A look at the portfolio of Toshiba Q300 Pro drives shows that there is a 128 Gigabyte, a 256 Gigabyte as well as a 512 Gigabyte drive. These days it would be nice if there also was a 1 Terabyte model, since an increasing number of users is going to buy high-capacity drives. So far, if you think about building a high-performance system and you want to use Toshiba Q300 Pro drives, your option would be to buy two 512 Gigabyte drives and create a RAID0 configuration. That way you can realize a 1 Terabyte boot drive, which on top offers twice the performance at the cost of 50 percent of the reliability.

Checking the box for additional goodies, we find a spacer in the delivery, which makes the Q300 Pro compatible with 2.5 inch/9.5 millimeter expansions slots. Apart from that there is a free copy of NTI’s Echo software included, which offers a simple way to upgrade from your old drive to your new Q300 Pro. L'unità utilizza memorie da 19nm MLC NAND Flash e un controller TC358790 sprovvisto di chip DRAM. Il case è realizzato in sottile alluminio con uno spessore complessivo dell'unità pari a 7 millimetri. Al fine di garantire una buona dissipazione attraverso il case in alluminio, Toshiba ha aggiunto pad termici su ogni chip così da assicurare un ottimo contatto.

Toshiba Q300 Pro è disponibile nei tagli da 128, 256 e 512 Gigabyte. Purtroppo al momento non è disponibile il modello da 1 Terabyte tuttavia acquistando due unità da 512 GB è facile raggiungere in RAID questa capacità. Con una configurazione RAID0 potrete realizzare un sistema incredibilmente veloce ad un prezzo piuttosto interessante.
All'interno della confezione del Q300 Pro troviamo, in aggiunta all'unità, un adattatore da 2.5"/9.5 millimetri e il software NTI Echo. Naturalmente Q300 Pro è coperto da 5 anni di garanzia. [/it]
