The bigger the data blocks the lower the resulting value is logical conclusion because the throughput is constant and gets much higher priority. Also at this point the Barracuda 7200.11 1.5TB shows its strengths in the sequential benchmarks and proves its very well throughput performance again.
Under random read and write conditions we could clearly see the sinking performance when we reduced the block size to four KBytes. You can again watch the gap between the 7'200 rpm and 15'000 rpm drives get bigger and bigger when reducing the block size.
