Overview

As we already mentioned the Fractal Design Core 500 is a cube case designed for mini-ITX motherboards and therefore very compact systems. The front features a plastic face plate, which looks like brushed aluminum and there is a removable 5.25" slot. Unlike most cases, the Core 500 has a single "U" shape panel which is kept in place with four thumbscrews. On the top and on both side panels there is a mesh that helps with the cooling of components. On this model, all the connectors are located on the front and it includes two USB3.0 ports and the classic 3.5mm audio jacks. Despite the small size of the Core 500, there is enough space for an ATX power supply as well as a medium size graphics card (max. 310 millimeter).
