If one is considering the sheer number of rumours which are circling these days around NVIDIAs upcoming GeForce Titan graphics card, then one can assume, that it can't be long until the green graphics fraction reveals their new monster. Almost three quarts of a year ago we were asking ourselves what might be the performance level of a GK110 based gaming graphics card and today we did a major update on this article. What we ended up with is a performance prediction for an absolute monster of a graphics card. We're going to outline performance in no less than ten different games as well as four benchmarks. Taking a closer look at the GK110 graphics chip, you can see that basically it's an upscaled version fo the GK104 architecture (actually it's the other way round). In order to estimate the performance of a GK110 gaming graphics card we tested the GTX 660 Ti, the GTX 670 and the GTX 680. Those cards don't only feature a different number of SMX units they als have different memory interfaces. Based on the benchmark results of these three cards we did our estimation. From a confidential source we know that the typical boost frequency should be 1'050 MHz (ish). Concerning the memory frequency the source told us, that it should be the same like with the GTX 680. Therefore we calculated with 1'500 MHz. As we've already mentioned we estimated the number of SMX units to 15, but it could also be the case that the final product ships with 14 SMX units but incorporates additional TMUs and/or ROPs.
