AMD gains on performance

It was back in 2004 – a whopping 14 years ago – when I used to play, what we now call World of Warcraft Classic, like a maniac. Since then countless new expansions have been released of which I’ve only barely touched the first one. Nonetheless it appeared to be about time to Blizzard to give an overhaul to WoW’s underlying engine, which now supports DirectX 12.

Warcraft 3 or Diablo II should still work

If you are a gamer you are probably already running a more recent operating system. However if you are still stuck on Windows Xp or Windows Vista, you should know that Blizzard will drop support for these two old OSes. Although Windows XP is 8 years old, this OS still holds a fairly substantial amount of market share. Later this year, World of Warcraft, Diablo III, StarCraft 2, Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm will no longer be supported. Warcraft 3 or Diablo II should still work on XP and Vista.

System requirements published

Although first rumors hinted that StarCraft Remastered was to be released in March, Blizzard has finally come up with an official statement on the actual launch date. On August 14 StarCraft Remastered is going to be released and so far it can be pre-ordered for $14.99 US. The Remastered edition comes with a few new features yet the gameplay remains unchanged.

During a StarCraft event held in Seoul, Korea, back in March this year, Blizzard’s president publicly announced that their going to launch a remaster of the original StarCraft somewhen mid-2017. On top of that the remaster should be free to download. It looks like Blizzard is not only remastering the original StarCraft. Two new Job openings suggest that maybe Warcraft 3 and Diablo 2 could undergo a major overhaul as well.

Working on new IPs as well

While Blizzard is still doing good and has plenty to work on in future, including some new IPs as well as possible sequels to existing franchises, a recent tease about possible Warcraft 4 and Starcraft 3, are certainly the biggest tease ever.

It's amazing to see people recreate their favorite games using new Engines. This time "Daniel L" has posted a video on YouTube showing his creation. If you've ever played World of Warcraft you'll know that these graphics are so much better than the original.

After seven years of development

Blizzard Entertainment has decided to cancel the project Titan, a rumored MMO that the developer has been developing for more than seven years.

Sometime in the future

There have been a lot of talk regarding new games and their resolution and framerate on consoles and while some argue that gameplay is more important than the actual resolution of the game, the visual aspects are still quite important. Blizzard's Diablo 3 is one of those games that will have a different resolution on different next-gen consoles but thankfully Blizzard is working on that "problem".

Coming to Mac and PC systems

We have already seen some rather impressive teasers from Blizzard regarding the upcoming Reaper of Souls expansion for Diablo III and as of March 24th, you can get your hands on it for a price of US $39.99 for the standard version, US $59.99 for the digital deluxe version or US $79.99 for the retail deluxe edition version.
