Based on a IPS panel

Yes you have read that right, Iiyama have silently released one of the best monitors in the high pixel density races. With the XB2779QQS, Iiyama has added a 27-inch panel with 5120 x 2880 resolution to its lineup. This display is listed at 799 Euro in Europe.


Check tool released by GRC

The famous programmer and computer security Steve Gibson has released another useful tool. With Gibson's latest app, InSpectre, you can check if your system is safe and patched. This tiny free app for Windows can analyze your system and determine whether you're vulnerable to the Meltdown and Spectre security flaws.


First company to produce GDDR6 memory chips

Samsung is the first company ready to produce GDDR6 memory chips on large scale. The company has beaten SK Hynix and Micron, the other two big memory manufacturers. Samsung's 16Gb (2GB) chips are fabricated on a 10nm process and run at 1.35V.

If you are looking for a mid-tower case which is compatible with high-end graphics cards as well as watercooling setup, Deepcool's Earlkase RGB White Edition enclosure might be just what you've been looking for. The company has released a case which is compatible with any kind of hardware as well as a big radiator.


80Plus Platinum

Exhibitions like the CES are a great place to find the largest, wildest and most extravagant pieces of hardware on the market. For example this year EVGA has unveiled a huge power supply. With the Supernova 2200 P2, the company has unveiled a power supply with which is able to delivery up to 2200W.

Featuring a single large fan

PowerColor has expanded the AMD RX series of graphics cards adding another mid-range model. With the Red Dragon RX 560, the manufacturer offers a custom card equipped with one single large fan. According to Guru3D, this card should costs around $126 Dollar. At the moment isn't clear if this model will be available only in China or worldwide.


First Supermicro Z370 mini-ITX available

Supermicro during the CES has also unveiled two Intel Z370 motheboards. This time they've come up with the SuperO C7Z370-CG-IW and the C7Z370-CG-L. While the first one is based on mini-ITX form factor, the second comes with ATX layout. Since Intel Z390 is right behind the corner, we believe that Supermicro is a bit late to the party with this models.


With black color scheme

During CES 2018, Supermicro has shown two X299 motherboard for Intel's X299 platform. Compared to the previous generation of motherboards, the new series look much better with a cleaner design and thanks to a simpler color scheme. The motherboards are based on a similar PCB and the only big difference is the IPMI remote management and the TDP support.


Six more models

During the CES, be quiet!! has introduced its new Straight Power 11 series of power supply units that will be available with 450W, 550W, 650W, 750W, 850W and 1000W of output power. Apart from that there is going to be a fully-modular cable management.



For high-end notebooks

A few years ago, Cherry has released its first low-profile mechanical switch which however now is outdated. All the major competitor of Cherry like TTC, Adomax (Flaretech) and Kaihua are releasing new low profile switches and Cherry need an updated version as well. For this reason during CES 2018, Cherry has announces MX Low Profile RGB key switches.

New features

The freeware GPU-Z has been a reliable tool for anyone who wants to know more about their graphics card. Meanwhile the software is available in version 2.6. The new release adds support for new GPUs and fixed several critical bugs. As always GPU-Z is available in standard and ASUS ROG Themed versions.


Max-Q for mid-range graphics card

A few months ago, NVIDIA introduced its Max-Q design laptops and they were limited to GeForce GTX 1080, 1070 or 1060 graphics cards. The initial idea was to enable the creation of powerful gaming laptops as thin as 18mm. Now things are slowly changing and NVIDIA seems to have decided to release GTX 1050Ti Max-Q components.


Another Core i5

It's not a secret that Intel is expanding its 8th generation Core "Coffee Lake" desktop processor lineup during Q1 2018. Furthermore the company will release more motherboard chipsets like B360 Express and H310 Express. One of these upcmoning CPUs is the Core i5-8500 six-core processor, positioned right above the current Core i5-8400.

In total three new SSDs

A few days ago Intel has shown early images of upcoming SSDs and now, Intel's next generation consumer NVMe products are online. The two new M.2 product series fall under 760p, 700p and 660p branding. While two of them come with TLC memory, the third one sports 4-bit per cell (QLC) flash.



Featuring three large fans

A few weeks ago we have reported first information regarding the upcoming Sapphire RX Vega Nitro+ series of graphics cards. During the CES, the company has shown a custom variant of AMD's RX Vega graphics cards. Compared to the reference graphics card, this Nitro+ series offer better cooling and acoustic performance.



Compatible with E-ATX motherboards

During the CES 2018, Lian Li announced several new products and amongst them was the dual-chambered PC-O11 Dynamic case. This is basically going to be an updated versione of the PC-O11 case which they launched last years. With the new PC-O11 Dynamic, Lian Li offers a case that preserves the proportions of a tower rather than cube chassis.
