With WindForce 3X GeForce cooler

Gigabyte is updating their Aorus line of graphics cards with models that come with WindForce 3X coolers. The upcoming Aorus GTX 1070 Ti sports a triple-fan cooler with black and orange color scheme. In addition the card comes with a solid backplate.



80 Plus Gold efficiency rating

Silverstone has introduced its new Essential Gold series of power supply units that will be available with 550W, 650W and 750W of output power. Apart from that, there is a semi-modular cable management. Compared to the Essential Bronze series models, which use 120 mm fans, these ones use larger and quieter 140 mm fans.



New open-frame case

Thermaltake has released a new case for its Core series. Like the previous model, the Core P90 is a open-frame tower chassis and this one might be the coolest yet. Like a lot of modern case designs, the Core P90 sports two separate spaces for components. The interesting part is that this chassis can be put in a corner.


With 4K UHD panel

Acer has expanded its monitor lineup once again with a new model featuring a 49-inch, 3840 x 2160 resolution and an IPS panel. Furthermore it comes with two powerful 20W speakers that can be always useful with monitors of this dimension.



388.43 WHQL drivers

The new GeForce Game Ready 388.43 WHQL drivers offer optimisations for the biggest game released this week, Doom VFR, the virtual-reality iteration of the 2016 "Doom" reboot. Apart from game support some bugs have been addressed as well.



More support for Doom VFR

It seems like we are spending more time updating drivers than playing new games lately. During the past month we have received several new AMD drivers and it's more or less the same with NVIDIA. AMD has just released its Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.11.4 graphics driver software. This version should offer better support for Doom VFR and the the open beta of Oculus' Dash software.




Based on a high-contrast IPS panel

Philips has added another monitor with a 32-inch panel and 2560 x 1440 resolution to its lineup. The display comes with a high-contrast IPS panel and it's supposed to be HDR compatible. In addition the 328P6AUBREB achieves 99% of Adobe RGB colour space, which makes it is suitable for professional use.



Equipped with their dual cooler

ASUS already has a wide portfolio when it comes to graphics cards but that didn't stop them from launching yet another model. The new card goes by the name "Cerberus" and it delivers solid performance at a competitive price point.






The first PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD from Corsair

A few days ago we have received a small package from Corsair and inside there was a Corsair Neutron NX500 PCIe SSD. While the MP500 was the first NVMe drive from Corsair, which featured a M.2 form factor, the Neutron NX500 is now the second drive from the Americans. This time the SSD comes in the shape of an add-in-card with a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface.



Second generation 10nm FinFET process

Samsung has begun preparing itself for the incoming wave of 10nm chips. The company has announced that its Foundries have started mass production of system-on-chip (SoC) products built using Samsung's second generation 10nm FinFET process. According to the electronics manufacturer, the 10LPP allows for 10% higher performance or 15% lower power consumption compared to 10 LPE.


3000MB/s of throughput performance

NVMe capable SSDs are growing increasingly popular these days, offering much higher transfer speeds than your usual SATA drive. Toshiba today released its XG5-P series of high-performance SSDs, targeted at enterprises and data-center customers, which usually have the highest demands regarding performance and reliability.

If these days you want to buy a fast SSD you're going to choose an M.2 drive. Those drives are not just fast, unfortunately some of them also struggle with overheating issues. Already a few months ago, Alphacool introduced their M.2 heatsink which is supposed to help keeping the temperatures of your M.2 SSD low. Meanwhile also EK Water Blocks has come up with a heatsink for M.2 SSD, which goes by the name EK-M.2 NVMe Heatsink.



Compatible with Core i9 7980XE processor

Gigabyte today introduces the AORUS X299 Ultra Gaming Pro, a similar revision to the originale X299 Ultra Gaming. The Gigabyte X299 AORUS Ultra Gaming belongs to the high-end series and it's recommended for Core i9 processors like i9-7980XE and i9-7960X CPUs. This board is quite similar to the X299 AORUS Gaming 7, but features WiFi module.



Up to 8K at 60Hz

Earlier this year, we first began hearing about the upcoming HDMI 2.1 specification which is set to support up to 4K/120Hz and 8K/60Hz. Now after several months, the HDMI Forum has finalized its specification, making HDMI 2.1 official. TV/monitor makers can start making good use of it.


Featuring three fans

Powercolor Red Devil Vega 64 and 56 have been pictured and both new cards feature a custom design with a beefy cooler. Over the past weeks we have read several reports regarding the lack of custom RX Vega 64 graphics cards. Unlike the previous rumors about the missing custom RX Vega, it appears that the manufacturers are actually going to release cards based on a custom design.

Last week there were several rumors regarding the upcoming Gigabyte RX Vega graphics cards. Meanwhile Gigabyte has published more details on the RX Vega Gaming OC, a new model featuring a dual-fan cooler with black and orange color scheme.



Designed for workstations

ASUS has revealed the full specifications of its WS C422 Pro/SE motherboard. This model belongs to the high-end series and it's recommended for Skylake-W Xeon processors. This board is designed for high-end desktops and workstations. The WS C422 Pro/SE is the exact same motherboard as the WS X299 Pro, except that it swaps the consumer X299 chipset for a proper workstation-focused C422 offering.
