During the past few weeks we've been testing a lot of new socket LGA1150 motherboards but today we're in for some change and we're going to have a look at ASUS P9X79-E WS socket LGA2011 high-end workstation motherboard. ASUS claims that this board already supports Intels upcoming Ivy Bridge-E processors. Furthermore it comes packed with features, a CEB formfactor as well as astonishing looks.

Today we've done something we don't usually do. We tested a watercooler that was specifically designed for motherboards. There haven't been a lot of reviews on ocaholic regarding custom watercooling components, which is one thing we want to change during this year. In this case we've had a closer look at EK's custom block for ASRock's Z77 Extreme11 high-end motherboard and it turns out that it makes quite some sense to use this watercooler over the standard coolers, especially in a high-end rig.
With the Seasonic SS-1250XM we have a high-end power supply from Seasonic for review, which received the 80Plus Gold certificate. As you might guess from the name, thes PSU offers up to 1250 Watts of continuous output power as well as a modular cable management.
Small and not too pricyLooking for a small Z87 based motherboard is not too easy yet, since the market has not yet been flooded with a wide variety of model. Nevertheless ASRock already has quite an interesting offer, which comes with a reasonable feature mix as well as an attractive price. At this point we've taken quite a few pics we'd like to present to you.
The Classic board you wantWith the Z87-Deluxe ASUS presents the latest revision of their very well known and highly appreciated Deluxe Series motherboard. Like usual you get a lot of features with this board, since it's one of the best equipped models available. We taken way more than 50 pictures of this model, since we also have a sample from this board in our office.
With the EK Kit L360 the company has a watercooling kit in its portfolio which isn't cheap but it comes with a high quality CPU cooler as well as a triple radiator. Overall we're very curious how this thing is going to perform when we compare it to all the different aircoolers as well as all-in-one watercoolers we've tested in the past.

About half an hour ago Corsairs new K70 Gaming Keyboard got unboxed an we once a gain fired up our camera and I have to say, there are some really nice pics this time. Especiall with the activated backlight this thing looks just great!
With the Z87X-UD3H, Gigabyte has another great offer in their motherboard portfolio, which in fact is their cheapest board, that comes with a complete set of overclocking features. For no only 150 Euro you get a rock solid Z87 based motherboard, that covers a very wide field of application. Already a few weeks ago we had the opportunity to take a first set of picture, but now we had a model in our office to take high-quality pictures.
A little eternity seems to have passed, since we last tested some motherboards (five days), so we had to bench two more boards and add them to our Z87 motherboard chart lists. In this case we've taken a closer look at the performance of ASRock's Fatal1ty Z87 Professional as well as Gigabyte's Z87X-UD3H. Christian Ney strikes againocaholic's Christian Ney has been invited by G.Skill to join them at Computex in order to break some more memory world records and to show what's possible with the G.Skill's latest memory kits. After a bit more then a day Christian Ney already comes up with a new world record, pushing G.Skill memory modules, which are based on Hynix MFR chips to an incredible 2115.1 MHz (effective 4230.2 MHz).
Gaming Motherboard by ASRockASRock has their own line of gaming motherboards since quite a few chipset generations. In this case we're talking about their Fatal1ty motherboards. Like it's predecessors, also the new Z87 Profess1onal has been Fatal1ty branded and comes with quite a few features especially tailored to gamers need, like for example an improved audio chip which has been isolated from other components on the motherboard. Obviously we couldn't resist and we've taken quite a few pics for you to check out the details of this board.
The Deluxe version of the DeluxeASUS Z87-Deluxe Dual, that's the name of another ASUS Z87 board, which comes with even more features than the Deluxe model. ASUS also provided us with a sample of this board and we've taken almost 70 high-res pictures.
Dual ThunderboltLast week, before the actual launch of Haswell, we tested no less than 13 different Z87 motherborads and this week we start with all the previews and reviews to these boards. We kick things off with the Z87-Deluxe Dual from ASUS, which is basically the companies flagship model when it comes to their classic line-up. Let's see what we can expect from this thing.
The TUF StuffObviously, ASUS new Sabertooth board also got pictured before the launch. The manufacturer decided to equipd their Sabertooth Z87 by default with the thermal armor again. Apart from that you get the usual Sabertooth features as well as a decent delivery. But first of all we have 62 pictures for you.
Small Sabertooth Z87The Gryphon Z87 is a completely new board in ASUS' portfolio. Until today there wasn't a Gryphon series and basically it's an mATX version of the Sabertooth Z87 board. ASUS also sent us a sample of the Gryphon Z87 before the launch and obviously, we've taken a lot of pictures again.
Cheap but there are some featuresAnother board regarding ASUS' Z87 entry-level portfolio is the Z87-Expert. This board offers everything you need to build a most recent Z87 based system. We also had the chance to take a lot of pictures from this board.
Another Classic boardWith the Z87-Plus, ASUS releases a product which is taking care of another nieche in the entry-level to mid-range sector. This board comes with quite a few features and it's delivery is quite good. Obiously we've taken a lot of pictures again.
Entry-Level Classic-SeriesThe Z87-A is ASUS' cheapest Z87 board. Next to the new color scheme you find everything you need to assemble a Z87 based setup. Also from this board we received a sample and took quite a few pics.
