Alphacool announce GPU cooler customization service

Bringing GPU water cooling to the masses

Alphacool International from Germany has announced the launch of its new custom GPU service which should fill the gap in the market for water cooling solution bringing them to lower end and/or non-reference designed graphics cards by creating a modular full cover water block.

As you can see from a couple of pictures below, Alphacool's water block is designed around the "core only" concept and used with the custom made base plate which is specifically designed for each type of the GPU and also includes a custom made back plate.

The specially designed water block will cool both the GPU as well as the copper plate which is fixed to an aluminum base. According to Alphacool, the MOSFETs should be cooled to the same level as they would be with an air cooler while the GPU and the memory should see a drop in temperature anywhere between 30 and 40 degrees Celsius.

The idea behind such a modular water block is that you would only have to buy the cooling plate when you upgrade your graphics cards as the rest of the water cooler should work universally. Alphacool will release the cooling plates for Nvidia 700 series and AMD 200 series and above. Alphacool also revealed some prices so the GTX 750 Ti version should be available at launch for €59, including back plate, while Nvidia Titan Black solution should retail at €79, including back plate.

Alphacool will also offer customers to send in their custom graphics cards, which are not covered with the standard block, in order for Alphacool to create a custom cooling plate. Alphacool will send a free cooling set for the GPU, plate, block and back plate, as a reward for sending the graphics card, while that same GPU cooler will be added to the product range.

Those looking to do multi-GPU system setups, Alphacool has designed the "multi-bridge" connection system which connects two water blocks.
