Following the yesterday launch of AMD's AM1 platform based on AMD Kabini APU and AM1-socket motherboard, MSI has now announced its version of the AM1 platform motherboard, the mini-ITX MSI AM1I.
Featuring a rather interesting design, MSI's AM1I motherboard might be a perfect option for an HTPC system since it comes with support for HDMI, DVI and D-Sub video outputs. The rest of the features include Military Class 4 components, including Hi-C CAPs, Solid CAPs, Dark CAPs, and SFC and Dark Chokes as well as MSI's own OC Genie 4 and Command Center.
The specification list starts off with a standard support AMD's AM1 Athlon and Sempron APUs, support for up to 32GB of DDR3-1333/1600 memory in single channel, single PCI-Express x16 gen2 slot, single mini PCI-Express slot which would be perfect for WiFi module, two SATA 6Gbps ports, Gigabit Ethernet, two USB 3.0 ports, integrated audio and a couple of USB 2.0 ports.
There will be plenty of AM1 platform motherboards to choose from but currently MSI's AM1I looks quite interesting. Unfortunately, MSI did not reveal any details regarding the price.
