Although we are just a day away from the official launch of the dual-GPU AMD Radeon R9 295X2, we now have a first official picture from one of the AMD add-in-board (AIB) partners, the ASUS R9 295X2.
Shipping in a rather big box, the ASUS R9 295X2 will be based on AMD's reference design and we are quite sure that we will not see any custom versions, at least not yet. All ASUS could actually do is placed a couple of ASUS stickers over the card.
In case you missed it before, the Radeon R9 295X2 features two 28nm Hawaii GPUs and packs 2816 Stream Processors, 176 TMUs, 64 ROPs and 4GB of GDDR5 memory with 512-bit wide memory interface, all per GPU. The dual-GPU graphics card also features hybrid liquid+air cooler which uses liquid to cool of the two GPUs while the center placed fan takes care of the memory, the VRM part and the PLX bridge chip connecting the two GPUs.
According to Donanimhaber.com, AMD is planning to launch the new R9 295X2 with a US $1,499 price tag.
