EK Water Blocks has released its newest full-cover water block designed to be used with MSI's top of the line R9 290X Lightning series graphics cards, the EK-FC R9-290X Lightning.
Since this is a full-cover design, the new EK-FC R9-290X Lightning block directly cools the GPU, RAM as well as the custom and hefty VRM part on the R9 290X Lightning graphics card, ensuring that it will be stable even under high overclock.
With base made of nickel-plated electrolytic copper and POM Acetal top, the EK-FC R9-290X Lightning also comes with pre-installed screw-in brass standoffs as well as a 0.6mm wide microchannel structure, which should improve heat transfer without sacrificing the low hydraulic restriction design.
As it was the case with previous full-cover water blocks from EK Water Blocks, up to four EK-FC R9-290X Lightning series water blocks can be interconnected by using various methods (EK-FC Terminal, EK-HD Tube & Adapter System or the EK-FC Bridge CSQ, depending on the water block version.
The new EK-FC R9-290X Lightning water block will be available in a single version, priced at €139,95, with an aesthetic retention backplate as an optional add-on for €29,95.
