After a rather wonderful life from 2001 to 2014, Windows XP has reached its end of life and Microsoft will pull the support plug on April 8th. Those sticking with Windows XP should be aware of certain risks and today we will take a look at the most important five.
Microsoft has already officially announced that it will stop the support for Windows XP on April 8th and if the OS does not self-destruct on that date, you should know the risks that come with staying with that OS.
The first risk is on the web as any security gaps which were usually updated will be open for malware, worms and viruses. The second risk comes from email or chat. The third is pretty much the same but comes from removable media like CDs, DVDs and USB flash drives. Fourth concerns any new security issue which will never be corrected and fifth concerns the, now quite popular, ransom-ware, which will like increase and could prevent your access to the computer.
According to Micosoft, staying on Windows XP after 8th of April will force you to be more vigilant and ready to do a lot more manual maintenance.
