According to a latest set of rumors, coming from unnamed sources from the supply chain, it appears that the next Google Nexus device, most likely called the Nexus 8, might be based on Intel hardware, rather than Qualcomm's Snapdragon SoC.
The rumor comes from Digitimes, citing unnamed sources from the supply chain which note that Google could enter the 8-inch tablet market in mid-2014 with a new device that could be based on Intel's Bay Trail-T platform, rather than Qualcomm's Snapdragon SoC.
The report also suggests that ASUS will most likely be the one to make it and Google might have picked the 8-inch size in order for it to compete directly with the Apple's iPad mini or the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX tablets.
Google's Nexus devices have been quite popular mostly due to their lower price and things might be the same with the upcoming rumored Nexus 8 as well.
