Transform office PC to Gaming PC with GTX 750 Ti

Article over at PC Perspective

The GTX 750 Ti is one of the first cards NVIDIA launched, that are based on the manufacturers new Maxwell architecture. After all the first reviews were released, the guys from PC Perspective had a bit a different look at the card.

The basic idea behind this article was if you can possible turn an office PC into a gaming PC by simply adding a decent graphics card. For this purpose the guys from PC Perspective went and got themselves armed with the following three PCs

Gateway DX4885: Core i5-4400, Intel HD Graphics 4600, 8GB DDR3 1600, HDD 1TB, 300W PSU, Windows 8, 570 US-Dollar.

ASUS M11B: AMD A10-6700, AMD Radeon HD 8670D, 8GB DDR3 1600, HDD 1TB, 350W PSU, Windows 8, 440 US-Dollar

Lenovo H520: Pentium G2030, Intel HD Graphics, 4GB DDR3 1333, HDD 1TB, 200W PSU, Windows 8, $340 US-Dollar

The three configurations are rather different and when it comes to market segments they cover entry level to mid-range. One thing that might be rather interesting to see is wether the 200 Watt PSU in the Lenovo PSU is going to be sufficient to power the GTX 750 Ti without running into any issues. When it comes to the gaming tests, there are for example Crysis 3 as well as Skyrim being run at 1080p.

Overall we think this is a rather interesting article and definitely a good read.
