We have already seen the GA-J1900N-D3V listed in Europe earlier, and now, Gigabyte has officially announced the motherboard showing what this mini-ITX quad-core Celeron J1900 equipped office wonder actually looks like.
It was already known that the GA-J1900N-D3V will be equipped with quad-core Intel Celeron J1900 CPU with 2MB of cache, 10W TDP and up to 2.42GHz clock, but we did not know that Gigabyte will make it completely fanless. The Celeron J1900 also comes with Intel HD 4000 graphics with a dedicated H.264 encoder while the rest of the motherboard features include two DDR3/L SO-DIMM slots with support for up to 8GB of memory, two SATA 3Gbps ports, DVI and D-Sub outputs, dual LAN Ethernet ports, four USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0, 7.1-channel audio, mini PCIe slot, standard PCI slot and serial COM ports, which is why they are mostly aimed at office PCs.
According to Gigabyte, the GA-J1900N-D3V motherboard is "Designed for compact, small form factor PC systems and devices, the GIGABYTE J1900N is entirely fanless, making it ideal for always-on, mission critical systems, as well as noise-sensitive digital entertainment systems." Hopefully, we'll see a similar system which will feature DisplayPort or HDMI outputs instead of those COM ports, which should make the motherboard a perfect HTPC candidate.
Earlier this month, many manufacturers have come up with similar solutions based on more affordable dual-core Celeron J1800 Bay Trail CPU, so hopefully more quad-core J1900-equipped ones will show up soon.
Earlier we spotted the GA-J1900N-D3V listed in Europe for around €90, while J1800 equipped ones are going for about half that price.
