EKWB releases ASUS R9 280X DirectCU II water block

When DirectCU II is not enough

EK Water Blocks has announced its latest GPU water block, the EK-FC R9-280X DCII aimed to be used with ASUS' R9 280X DirectCU II graphics card and its custom PCB.

The new EK-FC R9-280X DCII is made from electrolytic copper with acrylic or POM Acetal top and it is a ful-cover design, which means it directly cools the GPU, RAM as well as the custom VRM part on the ASUS R9 280X DirectCU II graphics card. It uses 0.6mm wide microchannel structure and can be interconnected with other EK-FC R9-280X DCII series water blocks via EK-FC Terminal, EK HD Tube & Adapter system or EK-FC Bridge CSQ.

The EK-FC R9-280X DCII is available in three different versions and EKWB also prepared a custom aesthetic retention backplate as well.

According to EK Water Blocks, the new EK-FC R9-280X DCII water block should be available for pre-order and shipping is expected on February 21st. The price is set at €102,95 and €104,95 depending on the version, while the backplate is set at €26,38.
