Microsoft has launched its next generation console, Xbox One 18 days ago and in that period the company manged to sell 2 million units already. Competitor Sony managed to achieve the same target already one month ago although the PlayStation 4 was launched a few days before Xbox One.
If we start doing the maths we find out, that it took Microsoft 18 days to sell two million units. On average this translates into 111'111 units per day. In case of Sony's PlayStation 4 it took 16 days until two million units were sold. This means that the Japanese managed to seell 131'250 units per day until they've it the two million units barrier.
On of the main issues still is, that there seems to be a bottleneck in the supply chain. The actual demand for the new consoles is higher than what the manufacturers mange to get produced.
We're quite curious to see how many consoles Sony and Microsoft manage to sell until Christmas eve. Maybe one of them might even crack the 4 million mark.
