MSI has unveiled the new 11.6-inch S12/S12T series of notebooks that will be based on either AMD's Kabini A4-5000 and E1-2100 APUs with Radeon HD 8000 series graphics depending on the SKU, the MSI S12 and the S12T.
As noted both will be based on either AMD's Kabini quad-core A4-5000 APU with Radeon HD 8330 or the dual-core E1-2100 APU with Radeon HD 8210 graphics part. The series feature 11.6-inch 1366x768 8-point touch screen (S12T comes with 10-point touch support) while the rest of the specifications include 4 or 8GB of DDR3 RAM, 500GB HDD or 128G mSATA optional SSD, 3-cell battery, 802.11bgn WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0, 720 HD Webcam, D-Sub and HDMI outputs, USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, Ethernet, and a card reader.
The precise dimensions are set at 297x190x22.5-30.1mm and weigh 1.3kg with that 3-cell battery. According to MSI and thanks to outstanding power efficiency of the AMD Kabini APUs, that same battery can last for around 5 hours of office work or over 4 hours of HD video playback.
Unfortunately, MSI did not shed any details regarding the actual price or the availability date for the new MSI S12/S12T series notebooks.
