iFixit tears the Xbox One down

Looks a lot like PC

iFixit managed to get their hands on Microsoft's newest next-generation console, the Xbox One, and as expected tore it down to check out all those internals. According to what we can see, the Xbox One is much closer to the PC system than the Playstation 4 but also does not have the assembly elegance of the Playstation 4.

The green motherboard PCB, Blu-ray drive, 2.5-inch SATA 3Gbps Samsung HDD connected via small SATA cable, large heatsink on top of AMD's custom APU, 8GB of SK Hynix DDR3 SDRAM and 8GB of SK Hynix eMMC NAND flash, Realtek's RTL 8151GNM Ethernet Controller and a bunch of ports which are arranged quite similar to the PC.

The good side of the story is that the HDD is replaceable but you will void the warranty in the process. iFixit gave it 8 out of 10 repairability score which puts in line with Playstation 4, but we still like the way the Playstation 4 is assembled.
