Acer's C720 Chromebook has been filling press columns for quite some time as it only costs US $249 and packs quite a decent punch for that money, but it appears that Acer had something even more affordable on its mind as it has now released the new Acer C720-2848 SKU which has half the RAM but sells at US $199.99.
The new SKU is practically the same as the previously release Acer C720 but has "only" 2GB of DDR3 RAM, which is practically enough for any average consumer that should use the Acer C720 Chromebook for exactly the thing that it is originally made, surfing, light office work and general media usage. It still packs the same 11.6-inch 1366x768 resolution, Intel's Haswell Celeron 2955U and 16GB of SSD storage.
While there are certainly better looking and definitly faster notebooks on the market, nothing can compare to Acer C720's low price and quite an impressive 8.5 hours of battery life.
According to Amazon, the new C720 will be available at Amazon and Best Buy in the USA as of today but the availability and actual existence in the rest of the world is still a mystery.
