ASUS has launched two different Radeon R9 270 graphics cards that will both feature the same and quite impressive DirectCU II cooler but set to work at reference and factory overclocked settings, the R9270-DCU2-2GD5 and the R9270-DCU2OC-2GD5.
Both graphics cards are based on the same PCB seen earlier on the ASUS Radeon R9 270X graphics cards as well as the quite impressive DirectCU II dual-fan cooler. While the reference clocked one is set to work at 900MHz base and 925MHz GPU boost clocks, the OC Edition of the ASUS R9 270 DirectCU II takes the base GPU clock up to 950MHz while the boost clock is set at 975MHz. Both versions feature the same 4GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 256-bit memory interface and clocked at 5.6GHz.
In case you missed it earlier, the R9 270 is based on the 28nm Curacao GPU and packs 1280 stream processors, 80 TMUs and 32 ROPs, and AMD markets it as the perfect 1080p gaming graphics card.
Although it did not reveal any details regarding the launch price or the availability date, the ASUS R9 270 DirectCU II and the ASUS R9 270 DirectCU II OC Edition are both listed with a price set around €170 depending on the region and retailer/e-tailer.
