AnTuTu benchmark reveals 2.5GHz Qualcomm APQ8084 chipset

Turbocharged Qualcomm Snapdragon 800

While Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 is currently king of the hill when it comes to high-end mobile SoCs, especially if you are counting design wins, AnTuTu benchmark leak suggests that we might see an even faster one soon, the APQ8084.

According to the AnTuTu, it appears that Snapdragon APQ8084 is capable of hitting 2.5GHz, which is 200MHz over the current flagship, Snapdragon APQ8074. The rest of the known specs tell us that we are looking at a quad-core CPU part but it is not clear if it based on Krait 400 or something new. The GPU part is updated and reported as Adreno 440 but the precise details were unfortunately not available.

Of course, Qualcomm will not officially talk about its upcoming APQ8084 chipset and it is still not clear when we will actually see it or when it will actually appear in any device.
