MSI adds support for new 22nm LGA2011 CPUs on X79

Ivy Bridge-E now supported

MSI has now officially released new BIOS versions that will allow the new Intel 22nm LGA2011 Ivy Bridge-E CPUs to work on its existing MSI X79 motherboards.

The new BIOS update for a total seven X79 based motherboards, including the MSI Big Bang XPower II, will be available for download at MSI's official website. In case you missed it back when it was launched, the flagship X79 motherboard, the Big Bang XPower II features a 22-phase VRM design, has support for 4-way SLI and AMD Crossfire as well as some MSI exclusive features like Sound Blaster Cinema, Multi-BIOS II, Control Center II, Super Charger and many more.
