Diablo III Reaper of Souls officially announced

Gamescom exclusive trailer released

As expected and rumored earlier, Blizzard has now officially announced its new upcoming Diablo III Reaper of Souls expansion at Gamescom press conference.

The expansion brings the new Crusader class that looks quite similar to the Paladin seen back in the Diablo II. The new expansion is set in the city of Westmarch and will also bring a higher level cap as well as all new items. It also brings a fix to many complaints that fans had with Diablo III as it will bring Loot 2.0, a new system that makes loot drops less frequent as well as better and more meaningful, or simply Smart Drops that could be tweaked to a specific character that you are playing with.

Unfortunately, Blizzard did not shed any light regarding the official launch date for the new Diablo III Reaper of Souls expansion but since it is currently playable at Gamescom showfloor we guess it could be launched sooner rather than later.
