Plextor ready with new M6 SSD prototype

To show it at Flash Memory Summit

Plextor is ready to show off its new M6 Series SSD during Flash Memory Summit in Santa Clara, CA that should kick off next week. The new M6 Series SSD will be based on Marvell's controller paired up with Plextor proprietary TruSpeed technology and Toshiba NAND flash memory chips.

The new Plextor M6 series SSD will use 2.5-inch ultra-slim 5mm chassis and will feature Marvell's 88SS9187 controller, Toshiba's A19 Toggle NAND flash memory chips as well as Plextor's own TruSpeed technology. The TruSpeed technology, according to Plextor, maintains high-level performance consistent, even when the drive has been running for a long time.

In addition to the new M6 series SDD, Plextor will also show the flagship M5 Pro Extreme and M5S series as well as M5M mSATA SSD and M.2 form-factor based SSDs.

The details regarding the new M6 SSD are expected to be unveiled at the Flash Memory Summit.
