Intel SSD 530 to be launched next week

NGFF M2, mSATA and 2.5 inch 7mm

According to a leaked slide, which can be found von VR-Zone, Intel is about to launch their new SSD 530 Series SSD's by next week. With the SSD 530 Intel presents the successor of the quite successful SSD 520 as well as SSD 525. The new model will feature 20 Nanometer NAND Flash and maybe lower pricing.

Like with its predecessors, the SSD 530 Series drives will use an LSI-SandForce SF-2281 controller. It's likely that Intel will go for the latest revision of the controller and also the latest version of the firmware. A closer look at the leaked roadmap also shows that the new SSD 530 Series drives should have arrived already in June, which for obvious reasons didn't happen. Meanwhile the launch should take place somewhen between the 8th and 12th of July.

During that timeframe Intel is about to launch the SSD 530 Series with three different form factors, which are 2.5 inch SATA with seven millimeter height, NGFF M2 and mSATA. The latter to will feature capacities of 80 Gigabyte, 180 Gigabyte, 240 Gigabyte and 360 Gigabyte. With the 2.5 inch drives Intel will launch 180 Gigabyte, 240 Gigabyte, 360 Gigabyte and 480 Gigabyte.
