AMD has announced that it is currently working on the new Catalyst driver that will come on 31st of July which should bring big improvements to Crossfire and fix multi-GPU frame pacing.
There has been a lot of talk about frame rating testing procedures for the last year or two. The fact that frames per second do not actually represent the user experience and that the problem lies in the time which GPU needs to generate the each frame. While Nvidia had much success in fixing the problem with its Kepler GPUs, AMD was not so lucky, especially in multi-GPU configurations.
Luckily, it should be better pretty soon as the driver is in its final stages and AMD is currently testing the prototype version. As noted earlier it should be available on 31st of July.
