EVGA reveals trio of Intel Z87 motherboards

EVGA Z87 Classified, FTW and Stinger

Like most manufacturers did, EVGA has also launched its own motherboards based on Intel's Z87 Express chipset with support for Intel's 4th generation Intel Core CPUs. For starters, EVGA has decided to launch a trio of motherboards, all based on the Z87 Express chipset and packed with high-end features, new GUI BIOS interface and good overclocking potential. The lineup includes the EVGA Z87 Classified, EVGA Z87 FTW and the mITX EVGA Z87 Stinger.

EVGA decided to throw a set of features including better power VRM, Creative Core3D quad-core audio processor, Intel Gigabit LAN native SATA 6Gbps and USB 3.0 support. The lineup kicks off with the EVGA Z87 EATX form factor motherboard that features 8-phase VRM part, 8-layer PCB, 4-way SLI support, support for up to 32GB of DDR3 2666MHz+ memory in four DIMM slots, eight SATA 6Gbps ports, six USB 3.0 and six USB 2.0 ports, POSCAP/Solid State capacitors, dual Intel Gigabit NIC Ethernet and Creative Sound Core3D quad-Core audio processor for audio.

It also comes with on-board power, reset and clear CMOS buttons, PCI-E disable switches, triple BIOS support, E-Leet X tuning utility, on-board CPU temp monitor, 300 percent more gold content, EZ voltage read points, 8+8-pin CPU power, on-board Bluetooth, mSATA/mPCI-e slot and bunch of other features aimed at enthusiasts.

The next in line is slightly less equipped ATX form factor EVGA Z87 FTW motherboard that has a 6-phase VRM, 6-layer PCB, support for 2-way SLI + PhysX, single Intel Gigabit NIC, different 7.1-channel audio chip as well as all those neat overclocking-friendly features like PCI-E disable switches, on-board CPU temp monitor, power, reset and clear CMOS buttons, EZ voltage read points and much more.

The last but definitely not the least and our favorite, if we may add, is the mITX form factor EVGA Z87 Stinger. This neatly packed mITX motherboard uses 10-layer PCB and 6-phase VRM as well as all those high-end features as the solid state/POSCAP capacitors, on board CPU temp monitor, power, reset and clear CMOS buttons, on board Bluetooth and much more. It features support for up to 16GB of DDR3 2666MHz+ memory in two DIMM slots, has four SATA 6Gbps ports, six USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports, comes with same Creative Sound Core3D quad-core audio processor as the Classified, has single Intel Gigabit NIC Ethernet and only features a single PCI-Express 3.0 slot, so not aimed at those looking to run SLI. The EVGA Stinger might easily end up to be an ultimate motherboard for LAN parties and SFF gaming PCs.
