OUYA confirms retail launch delay

Three week delay

OUYA has confirmed that the official launch of the OUYA console will be delayed for at least three more weeks and pushes the retail launch from June 4th to June 25th. The delay will not affect Kickstarter backers all of those should have their console in hands before the end of May.
While it secured an additional US $15 million of funding from private investors, OUYA officially noted that the delay comes as a decision to have more units on store shelves in June. OUYA got some incredibly positive reactions from retail partners and in order to meet the demand it had to "shift" the official launch by a couple of weeks.

Some are connecting the delay with recent reports of the controller issues where buttons get stuck under the top plate, but according to OUYA, this problem has already been fixed by making the button-holes just a tad bit larger. End-user will not notice it since new controllers are already shipping to Kickstarter backers and retail versions will be problem-free.

OUYA is certainly doing good and although it sounds good on paper, it is still just an Android-based console with performance well under anything else on the market.
