During GDC 2013, Intel announced a new version of its graphics driver that should feature a 10 percent improvement in graphics performance for Ivy Bridge CPUs, as well as bring support for OpenCL 1.2.
According to details, the new driver was developed for the upcoming Haswell CPUs but it is also compatible with Ivy Bridge. Although the noted "up to 10 percent" does not sound like much, when it comes to Intel HD 4000 IGP every drop of performance counts. Apparently, the new driver somehow balances CPU and GPU loads in order to squeeze out those 10 percent.
It is still not clear if the new driver is also compatible with Intel HD 2500 but all should be clear once Intel officially releases it sometimes this week.
The new Intel HD Graphics version 15.31 driver should show up at Intel's driver page
here.
