New series

ASRock with the Z390 motherboards have refreshed the portfolio quite a bit. For example we have seen for the first time the Phantom Gaming series of motherboards which replaced the Fatal1ty series. Furthermore the company adds the Steel Legend series.

With the Z390 Steel Legend, ASRock adds a model based on ATX form factor with four DDR4 DIMM slots. The PCB looks pretty similar to the one called "X-shape" that we can find on some high-end ASUS motherboards. On the Steel Legend there are two PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots and three PCI-Express 3.0 x1 slots. Since the second PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot is wired with four lane, the motherboard is compatible with Crossfire setups only.

Storage wise there are three M.2 slots but only two of them sport a small heatsink which ensure better temperature on high-end NVMe SSDs. If you own a SATA device, you will be happy to know that there are six SATA ports but only four of them are rotated by 90 degrees.

Looking for additional features we find USB 3.2 Gen2 ports placed on the back of the motherboard and several RGB headers placed on the PCB. At a first glance this is certainly a good looking motherboard but at the moment there isn't any detail about the price.
