Motherboard vendors prep for AMD Ryzen 3000

BIOS updates

During the last few hours, ASUS, MSI and Biostar have rolled out BIOS updates for their existing AMD B450, X370 and, X470 motherboards. The new BIOS makes the motherboards compatible with the upcoming AMD Ryzen 3000-series, codenamed Matisse.

According to the latest rumors, AMD has sent out engineering samples to multiple motherboard partners for testing. The rumors might be true since motherboard manufacturers have already started releasing BIOS updates. While MSI and ASUS specifically mention Matisse support, Biostar hasn't released any specific details.

As per TechPowerUp's sources, AGESA (AMD Generic Encapsulated Software Architecture) microcode version 0.0.7.x is designed to support the AMD Zen 2 processor microarchitecture and Ryzen 3000-series processors. The new BIOSes include AGESA 0.0.7.2 and the older AGESA 0.0.7.0 microcode.

In other words, the launch is just around the corner.
