ASUS X599 ROG Dominus Extreme now available

Priced at 1899 Euro

During CES 2019, ASUS took the chance to show its X599 Dominus Extreme motherboard. This massive motherboard uses an EBB form factor and it's designed to accommodate the expensive Intel Xeon W-3175X processor.

Compared to a mainstream ATX gaming motherboard, the layout has been changed completely. The socket is surrounded by a dozen of DDR4 DIMM slots with support for up to 192GB of RAM. Furthermore there are two DIMM.2 modules with room for four NVMe SSDs. Storage wise there are also U.2 ports providing connectivity for additional NVMe drives and eight SATA ports.

Despite the footprint of this motherboard, there are "only" four PCIe 3.0 x16 slots. In the case of power connectors there are two 24-pin ATX, four 8-pin EPS and two 6-pin PCIe power connectors.

Furthermore we also see all the bells and whistles you'd ask for in the event of overclocking, like PCIe lane switches, power and reset buttons, as well as a debug LED for diagnostic purposes. Since this is a workstation motherboard, there is a total of twelve 4-pin PWM headers on the PCB, with six of them located in the top right corner of the board.

The X599 ROG Dominus Extreme has been listed for a whopping 1899 Euro.
