ASUS unveils their XG49VQ double-wide display

With 32:9 aspect ratio

ASUS has unveiled the XG49VQ gaming monitor, a display with 49-inch diagonal and a refresh rate set at 144Hz. The monitor belongs to the ROG Strix series and it should sport several gaming-related functions.

The ASUS XG49VQ comes with a huge 49-inch panel and quite an uncommon 32:9 aspect ratio with a resolution of 3840 x 1080 pixel. Apart from that there is an 1800R curvature, which is supposed to allow for an even more immersive experience. The display meets the Vesa DisplayHDR 400 certification and it's compatible with AMD FreeSync 2 HDR as well.

The display packs some serious specifications, beside the 144Hz refresh rate, we spot 178°/178° viewing-angles thanks to its VA panel, 4ms (GTG) response time, and 450cd/m² maximum brightness. Furthermore, for its gamer target market there are several features like Shadow Boost, GamePlus Hotkeys, GameVisual modes as well as Low Blue Light and Flicker-free tech. Controlling these features is easy via ASUS DisplayWidget or the 5-way OSD Navigation Joystick.

On the I/O area there are two HDMI 2.0 ports and one DisplayPort 1.2a output. At this time there isn't any information about the pricing of this display, but we know that it'll be available this month.
