MSI teases GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z

Most powerful graphics card from MSI

With the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z, MSI is about to add a new flagship model featuring a custom PCB and a custom cooler to its portfolio. Usually the Lightning cards are the preferred cards from extreme cooling enthusiasts or other users who are looking for an absolute top graphics card.

As we’ve already mentioned the MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z is supposed to be equipped with a custom PCB as well as a new cooler. Apart from that excellent performance can be expected. In the past the Lightning series graphics cards from MSI always featured substantial factory overclocks. In fact the Lightning cards usually clocked as high as it was simply possible.

Since all the latest MSI graphics cards have been equipped with an armada of LEDs for RGB lighting this flagship model might not be any different. According to the latest pictures, the upcoming high-end graphics card might sport several carbon fiber accents. At the moment it's hard to say if we will see fake carbon fiber decals or a proper carbon fiber plate.

Meanwhile there are the first pictures of the PCB of the card. According to a leak from the overclockers Gunslinger and Littleboy, we can see what's under the hood. The PCB shows 8-pin power connectors and 19 phase power for the GPU and memory.

We expect the MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z to be announced at CES 2019.
