NVIDIA rumored to launch GeForce GTX 11 series

GTX 1160 planned

According to a report published from Expreview, NVIDIA is set to launch GeForce RTX 2060 alongside with a possible GeForce GTX 1160 somewhen next month. This would mean that NVIDIA would keep the GTX brand next to the new RTX brand.

The new series is supposed to be equipped with a different variant of the Turing chip. According to the Chinese website, the upcoming GeForce GTX 1160 is going to be based on a TU116 chip, while the GeForce RTX 2060 is based on the TU106-200. Furthermore, the marketing material posted by Expreview mentions "Turing Shaders" instead of "Ray Tracing". It looks like, the Ray Tracing technology will remain exclusive to RTX series.

At the moment there isn't any additional information available but we will certainly keep an eye on it.
