3DMark Port Royal will be available soon

With support for ray tracing

The upcoming 3DMark Port Royal from UL Benchmarks is going to be the world's first real-time ray tracing benchmark for PC using DirectX based ray tracing (DXR). The benchmark should deliver high fidelity graphics which are supposed to be unachievable with current rasterization hardware.

The upcoming benchmark will make use of DXR powered reflections, shadows and other effects that require ray tracing, running in real-time with a resolution of 1440p. In order to develop this tool, UL Benchmarks teamed up with AMD, Intel, NVIDIA as well as a few other companies. Currently DXR acceleration is available on NVIDIA's RTX graphics cards only yet hopefully it’s going to be adopted by AMD as well.

3DMark Port Royal will release on January 8th as a $2.99 US upgrade for 3DMark. Furthermore the benchmark is going to be available with new purchases of 3DMARK Advanced Edition as well, which will cost $29.99 USD on Steam and the UL Benchmarks online store.

The video below demonstrates the benchmark in action.
