Samsung launches 860 QVO SSD

$149.99 US für 1TB

A few days ago, we have spotted Samsung's upcoming 860 QVO (Quality and Value Oriented) SSD listed in different online stores, meanwhile the South Korean electronics giant has launched its new 860 QVO SSD. This is the first SSD based on QLC - quad-level cell NAND flash memory from Samsung.

The Samsung 860 QVO comes with a traditional 2.5-inch form factor relying on the SATA-III interface. According to the specifications, the SSD comes with QLC 3D NAND flash memory, which should offer increased density and lower pricing compared to TLC NAND flash. The lineup includes three models with up to 4TB of capacity.

As expected the 860 QVO QLC SSDs are able to max out the SATA-III interface, hitting up to 550MB/s sequential read and 520MB/s for sequential writes. In the case of 4K speeds 98'000/90'000 IOPS are achieved regarding random reads/writes. The TBW number is 1'440 Terabytes written in the case of the 4TB version, 720 TBW and 360 TBW for the 2TB and 1TB versions, respectively.

According to Samsung, the 860 QVO series will become available next month.
