Gigabyte unveils X299 Aorus Master motherboard

Compatible with Core i9 7980XE processor

Gigabyte today introduces the X299 Aorus Master, an upcoming high-end motherboard. The Gigabyte X299 Aorus Master belongs to the high-end series and it's recommended for Core i9 processors like the i9-7980XE and the i9-7960X CPUs. This board is quite similar to the X299 AORUS Ultra Gaming Pro, but comes with more goodies.

The X299 Aorus Master is based on an E-ATX form factor. The X299 Aorus Master comes with RGB backlight underneath each heat sink and there are steel reinforcements on the PCIe slots. In general the layout is quite simple and therefore it has been equipped with four full-sized PCIe 3.0 x16 slots.

Storage wise, there are eight angled SATA-III ports. Apart from that you get three M.2 slots allowing the installation of differently sized SSDs. Each slot is placed between the PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and it's equipped with an aluminum heat sink. Looking for additional features it seems that this board will also be a decent choice for overclocking, since we see several OC buttons, debug LED and additional 6-pin power connectors for more stability.

Gigabyte equips the X299 Aorus Master with one power button, one USB 3.1 Type-C port, one USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A ports and six USB 3.1 Gen1 ports. Furthermore there are two Gigabit Ethernet ports, a WiFi module and an analogue audio panel with optical out. At a first glance this is certainly a good looking motherboard.
