AMD Radeon RX 590 up to 9% faster than GTX 1060

Up to 16% faster than RX 580

AMD's upcoming Radeon RX 590 graphics card was spotted in 3DMark's database this month. A few days later, the graphics card has popped up again but this time on Square Enix's Final Fantasy XV database. According to latest informations, the Radeon RX 590 should be a bit faster than GeForce GTX 1060 6GB graphics card.

According to the performance numbers, the Radeon RX 590 is up to 7% faster than the GeForce GTX 1060 at 2560 x 1440 and up to 9% faster at 3840 x 2160. Furthermore, the upcoming flagship card should be a bit quicker than current Radeon RX 580 GPU. The latest scores from the Final Fantasy XV benchmark unveil that the Radeon RX 590 is up to 13% faster in 2560 x 1440 resolution than current RX 580.

Once the resolution is set to 3840 x 2160, the performance gap jumps up to 16% which is quite impressive. Since the card has been tested in Final Fantasy XV only, it's pretty hard to say how it will perform since every game will come with a different optimization. If these numbers are correct, AMD might offer a promising series of new graphics cards.
